OK, this needs to be said or my head's gonna explode.  Copying an anime character verbatim (pose, facial expression, and so forth), changing the hair color/style, adding tails/cat ears/spiky nipples/wings/etc. does not make you talented, nor does it make your artwork original.  A poor imitation of a style that's been done better for like 40 years now doesnt make you an artist. It makes you a fat 14 year old with acne and that unique cheesy odor that fat 14 year olds tend to emit (yeah you know what I'm talking about).
